Open to the Public...reposting!

I want to hear from you if you have a positive, supportive experience you have had while dealing with emotional disabilities. If you experience psychiatric illness or an emotional disability, or if you have a family member or loved one who suffers from Issues that need more than Tissues, please share your healthy experiences. Maybe your positive, supportive experience will help someone else. Maybe it will give someone the strength they need to step back from the edge, to make the contact they've been waiting for, to struggle through one more day or never-ending night. We all need each other. Please, comment.

Supportive online groups

I have found several support groups online that have great empathy for families dealing with mental illness. Try some of these:
windsofchangebipolar, a Yahoo group. Go to Yahoo. Search the title. Free to join. From their webpage: "If you are a person who has Bipolar Disorder or Someone you care about has Bipolar Disorder we welcome you."
RAD_FASDkids, a Yahoo group. From their webpage: "RAD_FASDkids is a group that offers support and helps to educate parents dealing with children diagnosed with (RAD) Reactive Attachment Disorder and/or FASD. When you are dealing with one, you may be dealing with the other."
Another I had hoped to be good was UpNDownkids, another Yahoo group. It is not very active, however. From their website: "Brought together by one common bond, raising children with emotional disabilities, Beth and Allie have seen the need for a support system for children with psychiatric disorders, and their families." It could be really useful. Maybe someone will start another similar support group.

Submit to Support

Years of living with chronic physical and mental illness have given me some insights I never wished for, but wouldn't live without. Experience has shown me that others who have similar interactions with family and friends have a tremendous amount of good to share. Empathy, support, positive experiences. This is what I am searching for.

I am a writer. I want to share this strong emotional support with the families and friends of others who struggle. I know I don't know it all. My live has been enriched by others who know more. Different experiences give us each different insights. I want to hear from you if you have a positive, supportive experience you have had while dealing with emotional disabilities. We all need each other.
